Do you enjoy decorating for Halloween but want chic and trendy Halloween decor that is still stylish? Here are a few ideas that will help you get in the spooky spirit without compromising on taste!
It’s all too easy for Halloween decor to become super cheesy, but it is possible to be stylish AND spooky — just have fun with the familiar themes and make sure to not skip the decoration aisle at Walmart!
Go Glam for Chic and Trendy Halloween Decor
Instead of pumpkin carving, like everyone else (although there are some really fantastic carving kits out there, even with great designs rather than images), do something unexpected. Add glitter, rhinestones, paint, or even patterned stockings for a totally different glam Halloween look. You’ll find lots of inspiration for glittered pumpkins on Pinterest. You don’t have to stick to glittering the entire pumpkin. Consider a monogram, silhouette, or pattern as well.
If you love bling, but really hate the glitter mess, try creating designs on your pumpkin with rhinestones, decorative brads, or even buttons. Craft stores will have lots of shapes and sizes to choose from.
If crafty stuff really isn’t your thing, patterned stockings on small pumpkins can create a unusual and eye-catching look with very little effort.
Or skip the DIY totally, and purchase a beautiful glass or metallic pumpkin that you can reuse year after year.

Light Up the Night
As you decorate for Halloween, don’t forget lighting. It’s just as important for setting the right mood in Halloween holiday decorating as it is in everyday interior design. Look for unusual string lights to hang on your porch or from your mantle.

You just can’t do Halloween without candlelight, right? Purchase a few sizes of glass hurricanes and use candles and candy corn for a pop of Halloween color and festive fun. As an added bonus, you can change up the candles and glass filler items for different seasons — sand and small seashells for summer, acorns or coffee beans for fall, red and green peppermints, cranberries, or tiny pine cones for Christmas or winter.
Go Vintage or Black and White
If you’re hosting a Halloween party, consider a more elegant approach. A Peach and Black theme could easily be part of the Halloween decor. Draped greens and black goblets could really give it a dark twist. And if you wanted to highlight it a bit more, you could choose a deeper orange for the flowers.
Using greenery combined with droopy candelabras, cobwebs, and wishbones will give you a very upscale and decidedly macabre decor for even your fanciest Halloween soiree.
Black and white is also a great way to go with your Halloween decor.
The bottom line is don’t be afraid to have fun with your Halloween decor; you can be spooky and chic at the same time!
Happy Halloween!
