Christmas is a time of year where you get the chance to spend time with your family and friends. It’s also a time where you don’t have to work much – hooray! For me, there are many reasons why I love Christmas. I thought I’d share some of them with you here:

Snow
Believe it or not, there are some years where the snow falls on Christmas Day. It’s something that many people long for in the Northern Hemisphere. If you happen to live in the northeast, you can almost guarantee a cold and snowy Christmas! The treetops gain a winter-white blanket upon them. Such a pretty scene during Christmas-time.
Holiday Food
It doesn’t matter if you’re on a diet or not. The holidays are one of those times of year where you get to eat lots of yummy food on such a pretty holiday decorated table! Yes, the only downside is you’ll have to lose the weight in the new year. Still, that’s a small price to pay for over-indulging one’s self!
Christmas Presents
Let’s face it. Christmas is often about giving gifts to your loved ones. The shopping frenzy and black Friday deals have become the main focus rather than the religious aspect! If you happen to have a large family, you will no doubt receive lots of presents from your family. However, my family chooses between Thanksgiving and Christmas-time to give back to the community. Whether it be volunteering or donating gifts, holding open doors or just saying hello to a stranger. It’s this time of year that reminds us that kindness does really matter.
Roasting chestnuts on an open fire
Last, but not least, I love the holidays because it means you can warm up in front of a log fire. And roasting some chestnuts, of course! The only downside to fires is having to add more logs to keep the flames going. Still, that isn’t so bad if you use decent logs, I find!
