Currently we are working with a client who is in need of updating living room furniture. In addition, new area rugs, a new mantle and crown molding as well as, custom window treatments are needed. Pretty much the entire room will be emptied and redone. If you are looking to update your living room furniture, you may want to read on. Here is an account of how we updated the living room furniture and the process of selection.
The before picture of the living room furniture
So first we needed to search for some beautiful living room furniture eye-candy!
Here are some of the living room furniture pieces, that right away, caught my eye.
The Living Room Sofa
This classic Chesterfield sofa with gorgeous nailhead detail seemed to be my first find right off the bat. The neutral fabric will be perfect. This living room furniture will go with their new updated living room look.
Next comes the living room area rug
After further investigation, I found this living room area rug which comes in various sizes which would be so perfect for hiding dirt and dog hair, (no offense, Pup). However, I always like to give my clients choices so here is my 2nd choice.
Fireplace surround and custom mantle
Either new area rug will go nicely with the existing exposed brick fireplace. Which will soon adorn a new custom mantle. The above the mantle will be sheetrocked and the tv will hang above. Newly painted living room and new crown molding will surround the room. This will give it a more finished look in the living room. Here is the before picture to give you a better idea of what I’m talking about.
I found this amazing occasional table to add to the living room furniture. made out of tiger maple that would make for a great desk area. I think the chair may be over the top for this particular client. Did I mention the desk chair was made out of fur? GORGEOUSNESS!
I’d say it was a very good shopping excursion and a fabulous start to their new updated living room furniture. I will start on pulling custom fabrics for their new drapery window treatments as well as choose a paint color and finally pull together some accessories for the living room.
