Monochromatic is a style that has been consistently on trend year after year. Whether it is your clothes, your accessories or your home it is becoming more main stream. Black and white are classic colors that suit any style and are a completely timeless pairing. A monochromatic kitchen is incredibly sophisticated and can make a big impact in your home design. Your kitchen says a lot about you, and a well styled monochrome kitchen can make a very big impression.
Monochromatic Kitchen Colors
Black and white are always classic colors but tend to look a bit stark in a kitchen. Go for a softer look with an off white. Instead of going for a solid, dark black opt for something a little more washed out. This will take away the harshness, and make the whole look less heavy, whilst still achieving the monochrome style for your kitchen.
Monochromatic Colors In A Kitchen
Quartz tiles are particularly good for small kitchens, because they are not only available in a huge range of colors, but they also have a high shine finish and reflective mirrored particles which will make a small kitchen appear bigger.
Lighting In a Monochromatic Kitchen
Natural light is the best. If you don’t have the budget, or room to add skylights and large patio doors, do not feel put off. Just be sure to add the right lighting to your monochromatic kitchen.
If you have the space available though and want to go all out with an entirely black and white scheme, it is very easy to quickly get lost in the trend, and end up with a room that can look a little busy. Try and pick a dominant shade as opposed to giving equal prominence to both colors to avoid this from happening.
Monochrome Accessories
Finally, if you are still a little nervous about tackling this trend head on, simply bring monochrome accessories into your kitchen and slowly introduce the trend that way. Monochrome accessories work really well with a number of different colors, particularly pure shades, as well as wood stained kitchens. You do not have to go all out immediately, you can introduce certain elements and go from there.
