If I told you the secret to beautiful kitchens is as simple as listing it’s functions, features and the feeling you want to achieve for the space, would you believe me? It’s true. A beautiful kitchen remodel doesn’t have to be complicated. Make a list. Once you know what functions you want in your kitchen, then you can create a focal point or “wow” factor. Focus on combining colors. They should work with each other in harmony. Next, determine what the feelings of the beautiful kitchen should be. Do you want a formal gathering space or something more casual, kid friendly? It is really that simple. Next comes the fun part… choosing all your kitchen finishes and fixtures. Read on for a step by step account of a new kitchen project that walks you through a design of a beautiful kitchen construction.
A Beautiful Kitchen
AAI was hired for a Connecticut Interior Design project on a new construction home in Middlefield, CT. The client had hired an architect and builder to build the home. It came time for choosing the finishes, fixtures and designing the home, a prudent decision was made to hire an expert interior designer. The client had a traditional style home but wanted to put a modern twist to it. This is typical of kitchens in New England. This was right in All About Interiors’ wheelhouse!
As a family of six, an open concept kitchen fit their lifestyle best. The kitchen is the central hub of their home. The client wanted her beautiful kitchen to be beyond spectacular. A place where conversation takes place, laughter roars and good food shared. It was up to our best CT Interior designer to interpret the client’s kitchen style, the function and feeling of the room. AAI hit the ground running.
Designing The Beautiful Kitchen
Years of experience and knowledge went into plotting and planning and designing beautiful kitchens all over Connecticut. Always taking into consideration the client’s cooking habits and lifestyle requirements. A master plan was formed and the client was on board.
A Beautiful Kitchen Needs A Focal Point
It was apparent that an amazing kitchen focal point was needed in this space. A beautiful kitchen custom hood to go over the cooktop was to be one of the major focal points of the beautiful kitchen. A custom design was created and it was made to fit in beautifully with the kitchen cabinetry that was chosen.
Every Beautiful Kitchen Has Natural Stone
A beautiful, natural stone with a modern look was selected next. This will go on the kitchen island and countertop. This beautiful granite has cream, black, gold and brown tones with lots of natural organic movement. The granite, reminiscent of animal print, demanded attention. The granite became the second focal point. This beautiful kitchen granite was the perfect unexpected piece to give the traditional kitchen a modern twist.
Kitchen Cabinets In A Beautiful White Kitchen
Grabill Cabinetry custom built the beautiful kitchen cabinets. The perimeter cabinets were an off white cabinetry finish with pecan glaze. The kitchen island feature boasted a warm pecan stain over maple kitchen cabinets. The combination worked in beautiful kitchen harmony. The fixtures selected were a brushed bronze finish and picked up the walnut tones in the beautiful oak kitchen floor and granite.
Personalize With A Coffee And Beverage Station
This family enjoyed their morning coffee. What this family clearly needed was a designated kitchen coffee station. Coffee mugs and a coffee machine will be housed in this cabinetry. Below the coffee station sat a small beverage cooler which stored cream, sodas and a few choice bottles of wine.
Kitchen Pantry
Just outside this beautiful kitchen was the location of the walk-in pantry. This beautiful custom kitchen also had a smaller kitchen pantry. It was located between the double ovens and the coffee station for easy access of snacks for their children.
A custom paneled refrigerator door was necessary with this large family . The wood panel doors blend in perfectly with the cabinetry. Next, we added beautiful, hefty kitchen hardware. This was a must in this heavily used beautiful kitchen.
The custom window treatments and a decorative tile backsplash will be added soon. Here is a sneak preview of the tile that will be going in above the cooktop and along the counters…
The Details
Hardware, lighting, furniture and floor stain all came together to make this beautiful custom kitchen a spectacular focal point of the home.
AAI worked for months on the entire home from basement to roof . This room was one of the favorite projects of the house. A close second to this project, was the master bedroom and on-suite. That’s an entirely different post.
The project designed by Melanie Langford, All About Interiors.
