We’ve all been in this painstaking dilemma when we’re viewing a potential new home; the Home exteriors is less than appealing, but the layout is completely you. Unfortunately, we overlook the property in our minds and hope that we can find something better further in our search. Incredibly short-sighted if you do this, as the endless possibilities can completely alter the interior as well as the exterior. Even more so actually because if a home has a boring exteriors and somewhat attractive interiors, you should take this in your stride.
See it as a canvas on which you can fit your tastes and style without much clashing. It’s a fantastically liberating experience but one which takes the first step to being accepting of your newfound dim and dull home. Take a step back and rethink the homes you’ve already seen and what the most important thing about them was. Then go by that decision. Don’t let the previous owner’s style put you off at all.
There’s a pattern here
Be wary that sometimes areas are under immense pressure to quickly build homes for a growing population. Thus they hire companies that are tasked with making strong homes to a strict time schedule. Don’t expect some of the newer homes to be stylish. Getting your hopes up ready to be dashed is what puts many people off even buying homes they think are in a great location and offer them lots of space. Just because there’s a pattern in the neighborhood of the same generic home theme on the exterior and inside, doesn’t mean you can’t make the home you’re interested in different. If you’re looking to make a move in the area and perhaps hire an interior designer to make suggestions on some simple home improvements that will elevate the interior design with minimal effort. Of course, the savvy homeowner will know that color schemes and furniture are the first things people will judge when they walk through the door. Getting this right makes all the difference between beautiful and stylish or scattered and haphazard.
Still beauty greetings
Many homes have used plain whites and beige colors at the front and back of the home. White doors and fences are indeed neutral, which is why the home building companies use them as their mainstay schemes. However, they do look boring and bland. Yet changing them will require you to think about the rest of the exterior as well as the time and money you’d need to make such a big change. Rather, you should consider adding a little still life to take the gaze away from areas you don’t want people to look. A Greek or Roman styled sculptures at the front of your home instantly adds an air of grandiose character. They inject a little history, and fine taste is art at the same time, and they do actually fit in with neutral colors quite well. Neighbors and friends will focus on the lawn art, instead of a dull and drab wall or door when they come over.
You can turn any place around, with a little imagination. Don’t resign from a genuine interest in a property just because it has a boring home exteriors. You can kindly blame the previous owners and the construction companies for that. Injecting your own style on a blank canvas is a chance to experiment and design your own home.
We would love to hear about your ideas and suggestions!
